ChipSpin is a browser game made by Synapse Studios. You pick a color, the chips roll, and the leaderboard keeps score. It is played with free credits only. This page sets out the rules that apply on top of our Terms of Use. The ChipSpin site also has its own legal page at chipspin.synapsestudios.xyz/legal; if the two ever differ, this page is the one that applies.
1. No real money, ever
- Credits are free. You get credits when you sign up and more over time just by playing. There is nothing to buy.
- Credits and items have no cash value. They cannot be bought, sold, cashed out, or exchanged for money, gift cards, Robux, prizes or anything else outside ChipSpin.
- Selling, buying or trading credits, items or accounts outside the game is not allowed, and accounts involved may be removed.
- Nobody can win anything of real-world value in ChipSpin, so it is a game of chance for fun, not gambling.
2. Who can play
ChipSpin is for people 18 and older. It looks like a casino game, so even with no real money we keep it to adults. Do not play where simulated casino games are not allowed. When you sign up, ChipSpin asks for your date of birth and only creates the account if you are 18 or older. We do not keep the date, only the fact that the check passed. One account per person. If we learn an account belongs to someone under 18, we delete it.
3. How results are decided
Every result is decided on our server, never in your browser, using a cryptographically secure random number generator. The server also makes every change to your balance. Everyone in a round sees the same result at the same moment. The game has no way for anyone, including our team, to pick the result of a round.
4. Roulette odds and payouts
Each round gives about 15 seconds to place credits on a color, then the chips roll.
| Color | Chance | Pays |
|---|---|---|
| Blue | 46.45% | 2x your credits |
| Red | 46.45% | 2x your credits |
| Purple | 7.1% | 16x your credits |
Over many rounds, every color returns a little less than you put in, so your balance tends to go down if you play a lot. That is how the game keeps credits meaningful. If we ever change the odds or payouts, we will update this table first.
5. Coinflip
In Coinflip you put up credits and wait for another player to match you. The coin is a fair 50/50 flip and the winner takes the whole pot. If nobody joins, you can cancel and get your credits back, and games are refunded automatically if a player leaves before the flip.
6. Free credits
New accounts start with free credits, players who run out can claim a free top-up, and logged-in players earn regular free paychecks while the site is open. The exact amounts are shown in the game and may change. We may reset, rebalance or remove credits and items, for example to fix a bug or undo cheating, and we never owe anything for credits that are lost.
7. Fair play
Do not use bots, scripts, multiple accounts, bugs or exploits to gain credits, and do not team up with others to pass credits between accounts. Usernames must follow our Game Rules. We may remove credits, items or accounts that break these rules. Found a bug that gives free credits? Tell us at hello@synapsestudios.xyz instead of using it.
8. Play for fun
ChipSpin is meant to be a quick bit of fun with friends. If you notice that games of chance are taking up more time or money than you want in real life, talk to someone you trust, or in the United States call or text the National Problem Gambling Helpline at 1-800-GAMBLER. It is free and confidential.
9. Your account
You can change your username, email and password in ChipSpin's Settings. Password resets on the site are turned off for now. To have your account deleted, or if you cannot get into it, email hello@synapsestudios.xyz from the address on the account. What ChipSpin stores about you is in our Privacy Policy.
